Thank you! - Frey's Dahlias

Our dahlias are all dug, washed and in storage awaiting their dividing. They look good and should store well for next spring's planting and your enjoyment!

So cruise our website for dahlias to order for next year. We do gift certificates, which are great for Presents to that favorite gardener in your life!

Winterizing your dahlias will help them to survive the winter and provide great flowers next summer. Follow these easy steps, and remember, in a lot of areas you don't have to dig and store your dahlias, just add a little protection.

Cut down the dahlia stalks after the frost has killed the plants. If you live in an area that doesn't freeze into the ground down to where the dahlia tubers are, or isn't wet and soggy all winter, you can leave the tubers in the ground for the winter.

It is important to protect them by mulching with leaves, mounding the dirt up over the hollow stalk, or even adding a piece of plastic over the hollow stalk and then adding the mulch.

If you live in an area where the ground freezes deeply, or where you have wet soggy soil over the winter, you will need to dig the tubers out of the ground. Go to our website section for growing and care. We discuss how to do this in detail.
